Which lifestyle would you choose in Wyndham City?

Right now the real estate market in Wyndham City is stronger than ever. With further growth on the horizon as more home buyers search for that sweet spot between inner-city buzz and welcome space and quiet. Plus, the upcoming Metro Tunnel offers reduced commuting times down the line.

When we started our business in Sanctuary Lakes 27 years ago, there were more farm animals than human residents. But that’s all changed. Today, buyers are spoiled for choice when it comes to building or buying their dream home. Having sold property here for more than two decades, we love sharing our local knowledge and helping guide people towards a lifestyle they are looking to attain.

So what makes the Wyndham City region so sought after?

Melbourne’s west is unique as it offers easy access to the delights of the city along with the luxury of wide-open space and a relaxed community feel. With an ever-growing choice of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities, it’s easy to get out and explore new things on the weekends.

Wyndham City – easy reach of Melbourne

Although the entire Wyndham City area is suitable for commuting to Melbourne for work by car or train, the suburbs of Laverton, Williams Landing and Altona Meadows are most ideally located as they are a little closer to Melbourne.

Laverton train station will deliver commuters to the city in under an hour, or it’s possible to travel by car on the M1 in half that time. These suburbs offer a variety of housing options, from established homes to house and land packages.

In addition to existing options, the Metro Tunnel, now under construction, will make commuting from the west of Melbourne even faster.

Werribee and Point Cook are also popular options for those who want an array of shops and recreation on their doorstep, but also need to travel in and out of Melbourne frequently.

Western suburbs closest to Port Phillip Bay

The bayside suburbs of Altona and Point Cook are the lifestyle suburbs of choice for both young and established families. There are the wide-open spaces of the waterside parklands to enjoy as well as Altona Beach with its popular dining precinct.

Much of the waterfront land here is given over to the parklands and the RAAF Base Williams. Therefore, housing is in comparatively short supply and prices are higher to reflect this. The exclusive Sanctuary Lakes estate has its own well-known golf course, hotel, swimming pool and many stunning waterfront properties, plus a shopping centre.

A little further south, the suburbs of Werribee South and Wyndham Harbour also offer bayside living. The new development here is attracting interest as a lifestyle hub for residents. With a vibrant Marina Square, berths for up to 1000 boats and lots of beautiful recreation space and bike paths.

There’s plenty on offer for a growing family with young kids right through to teenagers. As well as downsizers that plan to spend more time playing golf or on their boat.

Build your dream home in the west

As the entire Wyndham City region continues to be redeveloped, it’s often the more rural outskirts that attract people with a passion and vision for building their dream home.

If you value the prospect of being the first to live in your home, and want to be involved in the floorplan and internal finishes, then you have plenty of suburbs to choose from in Melbourne’s west.

New estates in and around Tarneit, such as Habitat, New Haven, Riverdale, Edgeleigh, Keystone and Orchard are all growing fast. A little further south, in Manor Lakes the newest estates are at Mambourin and Wollahra Rise.

Buyers looking for a house and land package are also turning to Wyndham Vale. A great suburb, with a large shopping precinct that’s close to the freeway and has its own train station.

From Manor Lakes, Wyndham Vale and Werribee South you can just as easily enjoy a journey south to Geelong for an ocean swim or surf. If you are travelling further, Avalon Airport is a 20-minute drive away and Tullamarine Airport is around 30 minutes by car. This makes the region appealing to frequent flyers as well.
